a little different...

...the church is to be different. to have a distinct smell, an unmistakeable flavor, and a love and conviction that dance perfectly together.

please share your personal thoughts... i would love to hear each and every perspective...

Amen!
You know what's funny? (It's not funny "haha" but more like funny "man God is good")I was thinking about this thought of yours about the church being different and what not and I was really wrestling with my emotions. It's funny because I hadn't just read that little post until about 3min ago and I have been questioning the church's direction. I'm soooo having a hard time with it right now because I feel like it's become "safe". I know that sounds cliche but we're called to take risks and the only risks that we as the church are taking is just talking about risks. This has gotten me messed up in the head and I just wanted to say thank you for your thoughts. There is a calling that the church SHOULD be different and I'm encouraged that we serve a mighty and powerful God that moves regardless of our lack of faith. God, may you break down our walls and move us in a mighty way that will rock our lives to a point of contageousness!!!

chau! i so appreciate you comment and your willingness to share your thoughts. i believe that we each have gifts and desires that God will use uniquely within the church. and also, those giftings will extend beyond the church people into the world, with the purpose of pointing to Christ - reflecting his mission. since we are all a process, until we are completed in Him, we will always be challenged to challenge ourselves. risk taking is so much of what we as christians are about, and if we remain available, i believe that God will snatch us up to be tools used by him. i love the thought of being contageous... what a great word! you have such great thoughts, and i would like to hear them more!
